DIY Hanging Planters

I got plants! I don’t have the greenest thumb so I usually avoid getting house plants or potted plants. However, one day I was sitting on my couch looking across the room at one of my fake house plants and was overwhelmed with a wish that they were real… Seems like a weird thing to wish for, but there I was wishing it! I headed to Home Depot and grabbed a few indoor plants. So far they are still alive!

two of the plants I planned to hang in the bathroom but I had a hard time finding hanging planters that I liked, were the right size, and weren’t crazy expensive. So thankful Hobby Lobby has opened up – I found these great galvanized tin buckets; perfect size and decent price!

The only problem with these is they weren’t made for hanging. I could fix that though. My first thought was to have Vito drill some holes in them, but he was busy so I grabbed my roll twine and my hot glue gun!

I made 4 loops for each bucket and hot glued them evenly around them. I took more twine and wrapped it around several times to hide the knots and make it look like it’s all one complete piece of twine (shh! don’t tell).

Now to get them hanging! I cut several strands of twine length I needed and knotted them to the loops around the buckets then knotted them all together in a loop at the top. I can’t wait to hang these in the bathroom!

hah! I didn’t realize Sookie and Doris made an appearance in this picture!
