Meet our puppy, Josie!
She’s a Border Collie, Chocolate Merle coloring, her right eye is half blue, her right eye is green, currently 28 lbs, and 5 months old. She LOVES people, snow, and playing soccer (she likes to try and herd the ball! Thankfully, she hasn’t tried to herd the hens!). She’s super smart and is doing really well with training. I’d love to do some agility with her soon!
When the lockdowns happened, we decided it would be a good time to get a puppy. Since I’d be home, I’d have enough time to train her and give her the attention puppies need! This was not an original thought though, turns out EVERYONE had this same idea! Rescues were backed up with applications, breeders had HUGE waiting lists and some I contacted weren’t even putting new names on their waiting list.
Finally we found a breeder that was still needing to find people for her litter due in September, 2020. Once we had our deposit in, we had to wait…
LONGEST WAIT EVER!
We got to bring her home on November 5, 2020; our 4 year anniversary!
We’ve so enjoyed these three months with her! I didn’t think we would be but… We’re totally those typical dog parents now; She’s our baby! We are doing what we can to make sure she is healthy, eating right, and isn’t exposed to any kind of harsh chemicals or toxins (which is easy since we already do all that for ourselves! #toxinfreehome!).
I’m excited to share all the ways we keep Josie happy and healthy!
